Overall, Egypt experiences a desert climate characterised by hot and dry conditions, though it does vary depending on what region you visit. Egypt has two main seasons:
- Summer: From May to August, temperatures are at their highest in most parts of Egypt. Be prepared for scorching temperatures, especially in the desert areas, where it can reach over 40°C (104°F).
- Winter: From November to February, temperatures are milder, making these months peak tourist season. Daytime temperatures in most areas are comfortable, ranging from the low to mid 20s (°C) (68–77°F), making it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The evenings can get cooler, especially in the desert and Nile Valley regions.
Spring (March to April) and autumn (September to October) offer a pleasant climate with warm days and relatively cool evenings. The temperatures are still comfortable for exploring, and there are fewer tourists compared to the winter months.
Winter has the most comfortable weather for exploring Egypt’s attractions and taking part in activities. It’s also the peak tourist season, and many visitors prefer this time for their trips, resulting in a lively atmosphere and various events and festivals.
